Notes:Landforms and landscapes around the world are valued by many different people for many different reasons.

 

Discussion: Why might people value different landscapes and landforms. This is discussed quite extensively. I will work with my students to identify the different values we place on our land in particular. 

 

Think, Pair, Share: Using the discussion answers from above, introduce students to aesthetic, cultural, economic, identity and place. Use the think, pair, share method to develop definitions. 

 

Discussion:Introduce students to tourism and mining and discuss the impact these have on landscapes and landforms. 

 

Activity: Identify where you have an aesthetic value, cultural value, economic value and spiritual value of a place. 

Write a short paragraph explaining why you have that value for each place.
