LI: Students can explain the creation and value of one landscape and landform. 

 

PowerPoint: 8. Values of landscapes and landforms

 

Activity: Pictures of different landscapes and landforms displayed on board. Students are to identify what value they think people might have to the landscapes and landforms displayed. Students to write their answers in the chart provided.  

 

Research Activity: Values of landscapes and landforms

Students will research the landform “The Three sisters” to understand the cultural and spiritual value of the landform to the indigenous people. Students will also discuss the creation of the landform using geomorphic process and the Indigenous perspective. 

 

Students will use this information to create an informative poster. 

 

 

Extension:

Dreamtime Stories:access the Dust Echoes website http://www.abc.net.au/dustechoes/

Students to listen / explore a Dreamtime story related to a landmark or landform, discuss the spiritual and cultural nature of dreamtime stories.
